Who are your top five favorite bands?

I'll start (but mine are in no particular order)

- Coheed and Cambria
- Thrice
- The Get Up Kids
- Say Anything
- Billy Talent/Thursday? <-- having a hard time with this one

Believe me there are alot of other bands that deserve to be on my list, but if I was stuck in one of those 'desert island' situations, this is probably what I'd pick.

Heh, finally I run into someone who likes when Genesis still played rock. Every time I ever mention to someone that I like the old early 70s Genesis all I ever hear is "OMG, I love Phil Collins!" : /

Might sound weird to people reading this, but I prefer Peter Gabriel on stage dancing around in a dress any day over him as far as the vocals go. Phil Collins was a good drummer and backup singer though :)

Oh, well, I dunno what you have listened to and haven't. But I think the best albums in order are probably Nursery Cryme, Selling England By The Pound, Foxtrot, and Trespass.

As with most progressive rock, listening to the whole album as one probably is better than individual songs. But as far as songs go, I prefer Dancing With The Moonlit Knight, The Musical Box, The Knife, The Return of the Giant Hogweed, The Fountain of Salmacis, Watcher of the Skies, The Battle of Epping Forest, Can Utility and the Coastliners....and of course, Supper's Ready.

They were pretty pretentious. Its funny how they put the word "The" in the title of pretty much all their best songs. So, uh...just look for The ______ and you probably are listening to some of their best :)
